Terms of Service
Cavara is a personal tool that Brad Stubbs built to trade his own brokerage accounts. It is not offered to the public. These terms apply to anyone else who is given access, and by creating an account or using Cavara you agree to them.
Effective October 23, 2026
1. Personal use and eligibility
Cavara is a non-commercial, personal project. It is not sold, marketed or offered as a service to the public, and access is by invitation only. Sign-up requests are not approved unless the operator invites you.
If you are given access, you must be at least 18 years old, able to form a binding contract, and the owner of every brokerage account you connect. You may use Cavara only for your own accounts. Cavara is intended for use in the United States.
2. What Cavara is, and is not
Cavara is software. It lets you write rules for bots that sell cash-secured puts and covered calls or buy and sell shares on a trend-following rule, and it submits orders to a brokerage account you connect, according to those rules.
- Cavara is not a broker-dealer, investment adviser or financial planner, and nothing in Cavara is investment, tax or legal advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
- Cavara never holds your money or securities. Your brokerage holds them and executes every order.
- Scores, previews, performance figures and Cavara AI answers are information to help you decide. You decide which rules your bots follow and whether they trade.
3. Your account
Keep your password secret and your contact email current. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at brad.a.stubbs@gmail.com if you believe it has been accessed without permission.
4. Connecting a brokerage and authorizing orders
When you connect a brokerage account (through Alpaca API keys, moomoo’s OpenD gateway, or SnapTrade where available), you authorize Cavara to read that account and to submit, monitor and cancel stock and option orders in it only as directed by the bots and settings you configure, as described below. Your brokerage’s own agreements continue to govern your account, including order handling, margin, assignment and fees. You can withdraw this authorization at any time by turning your bots off, using the kill switch, or disconnecting the brokerage.
5. How automated trading works
The full walk-through is on How Cavara works. In short:
- Every bot starts Off. Each bot has three modes: Off (does nothing), Watching (checks your rules on a schedule and records the trade it would have made, without sending anything), and Trading.
- Turning a bot to Trading needs an explicit confirmation from you. In Trading mode the bot checks the market about every 15 minutes during US market hours and places limit orders that meet your rules, on your behalf, without asking you each time, except as described for real-money accounts below.
- Real-money accounts: every order that opens a new position is held for your approval. Cavara shows you the contract, quantity, limit price and expected credit; nothing is sent unless you approve it, and a proposal you do not answer within 30 minutes expires unsent.
- Exits are not held. Orders that close or reduce a position under rules you set (such as a profit target, stop-loss or closing before expiration) may be sent automatically on any account, so that a protective exit is not missed while you are away.
- Learning: on practice accounts Cavara may fine-tune a bot’s rule numbers from its own results and records every change; on real-money accounts every suggested change waits for your approval. Cavara never turns a bot on or moves it to Trading by itself.
- Limits you control: account-wide risk limits (daily loss, trades per day, open contracts, portfolio exposure, position size and risk per trade) are checked before every opening order, and a kill switch stops every bot on every account from opening new positions immediately.
You are responsible for the rules you set, for reviewing orders you approve, and for monitoring your accounts. Practice and paper accounts use simulated money; their results do not predict results with real money.
6. Risk
Shares can lose value too, and a trailing stop is checked about every 15 minutes during market hours, so a stock that gaps or falls quickly can be sold well below its stop price, or not at all if the limit order does not fill.
Automated trading adds its own risks: market data can be delayed, missing or wrong; orders can fill at prices you did not expect, partially, or not at all; and software, networks, brokerages or our hosting provider can fail or be unavailable, which may prevent orders from being placed, changed or canceled. Past or simulated performance does not guarantee future results.
7. Cavara AI
Cavara AI explains your bots’ activity using an AI model. Its answers can be incomplete or wrong. It cannot place orders or change settings. Do not rely on it as advice.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use Cavara to break any law or your brokerage’s rules, to manipulate markets, to trade accounts you are not authorized to trade, to trade on behalf of anyone else, to probe or attack the service, or to access other users’ data. Do not resell or share access to your account.
9. Fees
Cavara is free and non-commercial. Nobody pays to use it. Your brokerage may charge its own fees.
10. Ownership
Cavara, its software and its content belong to Brad Stubbs. You keep ownership of the information you provide, and you give us permission to use it to operate Cavara for you as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimers
Cavara is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or profitable.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Brad Stubbs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for trading losses, lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of Cavara, any order placed or not placed, or any third-party service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to Cavara is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $100.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Brad Stubbs harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of Cavara, your trading, or your breach of these terms.
14. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Cavara at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if needed to protect the service or other users, or if we discontinue Cavara. When access ends, your bots stop; orders already sent to your brokerage are governed by your brokerage.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction.
16. Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the effective date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Cavara after that means you accept the updated terms.
